Larry Few is a fire professional with an extensive background that spans over thirty (35) years of experience in the fire service.  He holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Management from Shorter University and an Associate’s Science Degree in Fire Science Technology from DeKalb Community College.  Chief Few also holds the designation as a Chief Fire Officer and Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers, MIFireE designation from the Commission on Professional Credentialing. As a senior fire executive and public safety officer, his experience includes a thorough knowledge of the Office of the Fire Chief, Fire & Emergency Medical Service Operations, Special Operations, Fire Administration and Support Services.  Chief Few has served successfully as a Chief Officer in all areas of fire management prior to his appointment as Fire Chief of the Fulton County Fire Rescue Department in August of 2006.

 

As Fire Chief, he is recognized for his ability as an Executive Manager that promotes team-work with the ability to effectively plan, organize and implement activities in order to establish a cooperative and results oriented work environment.  Chief Few was elected to the Executive Board of the Metropolitan Association of Fire Chiefs and also served as President of the Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Association.  Chief Few has also served on the Resolution Committee with the Southeastern Association of Fire Chiefs (SEAFC).  He is presently the Chair of United Methodist Men of the East Point First Mallalieu United Methodist Church.  

 

Chief Few has been married to his beautiful wife, Mazie for 40 years and is the proud father of two sons, Nicholas and Bryan.  Nicholas is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University and Brown University and is an Actor.  Bryan is a graduate of Tennessee State University and a Firefighter in the State of Georgia.
